Loftus Family Dentistry
Joseph Loftus, DDS

Keeping your care simple and as comfortable as can be is very important to North Dallas dentist Dr. Joseph R. Loftus.

Sedation Dentistry

Do you often feel scared or even panicked when faced with an upcoming dentist appointment? Sedation dentistry can help you achieve a state of relaxation while you receive the necessary oral health care your smile needs to be healthy and beautiful, at last.

Nitrous oxide is a great option for busy patients who only have mild anxiety and need to be able to return to work after their procedure, while IV sedation and oral conscious sedation can greatly benefit those who struggle with moderate to severe fear. Dr. Loftus will be happy to discuss each of these treatments with patients beforehand to determine which would best benefit them.

Digital Imaging and Intraoral Cameras

Intraoral cameras and digital imaging are ideal alternatives to more traditional methods, allowing us to gather much more detailed pictures of your teeth and jaw immediately visible on a monitor for both doctor and patient to see. Gone are the days of darkrooms and tedious film development! Today, your x-rays and photos appear instantly on the chairside monitor.

We are proud to incorporate iTero Element® as our imaging system. This powerful scanner is quick, precise, and more comfortable. Patients enjoy the high-definition color display and touch widescreen monitor, which allows us to zoom in when needed. Our 3-D imaging system can take comprehensive scans of your teeth and gums, allowing us to skip goopy, uncomfortable impressions needed for restorations.

Soft Tissue Laser

We use laser light energy to perform many common soft tissue surgeries.

  • Tongue-tie
  • Frenectomy
  • Periodontal treatments
  • Gum contouring
  • Cold sore and canker sore treatment

Laser surgeries are more precise, comfortable, promote faster healing times, and have less bleeding than traditional surgery.
